Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, explains easy techniques anybody can learn. Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious restaurants in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy and competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most enjoyable time of my life. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was an excellent place to study. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy taking classes at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, which has had an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of children who are struggling. Additionally, she is an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate in which she promotes awareness of young diabetics. In her capacity as a speaker, she makes trips across the country to talk about her love of food and her culinary career. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has often said that I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share what I love most for life with people.
